PTZ Camera Operator

We are in the process of opening up a new stage in Los Angeles  and are looking for a local crew to call upon when the need arises. These gigs have the potential to fall on nights and weekends. Live Bash operates in a fast-paced, live-broadcast environment so the ability to think on your feet is a must. 

We are looking for PTZ Camera Operators to technically execute our clients’ vision through informed camera positioning, camera movement, shot composition, and stage blocking. This role will serve as a critical function within the live production environment and report directly to the Director of Production. 

The PTZ Camera Operator should possess an excellent understanding of live video production, and will be responsible for the troubleshooting and maintenance of production equipment including, but not limited to: 

  • Blackmagic ATEM switcher / control panel
  • vMix software,
  • Cerevo LiveShell.X encoder
  • AJA KiPro recorder
  • Canon CR-N300 and CR-N500
  • SKAARHOJ PTZ controller

Responsibilities for the PTZ Camera Operator include:

  • Creating custom experiences based on individual client needs.
  • Communicating effectively with the Technical Director and Production Manager during rehearsals and live broadcast.
  • Solving  production issues related to camera, signal flow, or rack/control equipment as they occur in the live setting. In-depth working experience with studio routing and signal distribution

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience operating PTZ cameras in a live production environment. 
  • 3+ years experience in broadcast engineering, AV systems integration, or similar roles.
  • Experience with both SDI-based and IP-based workflows 

This position will be contracted on a freelance basis, at a rate of $45/hr.
